The Rotary International theme for 2019-2020 is ‘Rotary Connects the World’. Our district’s clubs have always been very strong in projects that connect us with our overseas communities however often the strong work and projects that are carried out in our local communities are not as visible. We also don’t always see the work and support that is performed within our district between the clubs. We know it happens, such as when the flood events occurred in Brisbane, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley and Toowoomba and the current drought event that has continued to occur for the western clubs and communities - then the district clubs rally around each other and are incredible in supporting our communities.
In 2019-2020 ‘Rotary Connects the World’ will ensure we openly demonstrate and promote how we are connecting with our clubs and communities across the world but just as importantly within our district.
To help celebrate and assist in connecting our district clubs with each other, the theme for the 2020 D9630 Conference is ‘Connecting City and Country’. At the conference we will be promoting activities, events, projects and friendships that will help our city and country clubs to start conversation and build relationships. We will build on existing events or projects such as the ‘Adopt a Town’ project which links our eastern clubs with our western clubs and communities for not just projects but also friendship and fellowship events where we simply get together and support the town and surrounding community.
We look forward to you joining us for an incredible three days that will be filled with great speakers, information sharing, relationship building wrapped around fun and friendship.
